Over 6 million people to benefit from European funds for South African water
Three European development finance partners and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) formally agreed to finance the Mooi-Mgeni water supply project in KwaZulu-Natal. The agreements were signed at an event in Rosetta to mark the start of construction for the Mooi-Mgeni project.

Replacement of valves in the gate valve house of the Schwammenauel dam and hydropower station
The Rur dam with the Schwammenauel hydropower station is located in the Nordeifel mountains near the city of Heimbach. With its storage volume of 203 million m³ it is one of Germany's largest dams. After more than 65 years of service, the valves at the bottom outlet had to be replaced. The old plunger valves were replaced by hollow jet valves with a much higher capacity.

UNICEF, EU to improve Guinea Bissau water infrastructure
A joint project to provide clean water, sanitation and hygiene to 60,000 people was launched by the Government of Guinea Bissau, UNICEF and the European Union on the 18th of April 2011. Apart from the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, the Head of the EU Delegation in the country and UNICEF's Country Representative, the ceremony was attended by different government authorities, representatives of the Embassies of Spain, France and Portugal as well as various NGOs.

The problem that Oakland Partners found themselves with was that they had to connect the new properties to the existing sewer line which is 4 metres deep under the existing highway.

ICA-led consortium signs contract to build the Northern Interceptor Tunnel
Empresas ICA, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV and NYSE: ICA) announced that the CICE consortium, led by ICA, signed a construction contract of approximately US$67 million to build a wastewater interceptor tunnel in Medellín, Colombia with Aguas Nacionales EPM, an affiliate of Empresas Públicas de Medellín. The CICE consortium includes ICA subsidiaries with 80% and Estyma of Medellin with 20%.
