In-Pipe Technology’s Agent in Mexico awarded a contract to implement In-Pipe’s green sewer collection system treatment to improve effluent quality and increase treatment capacity at the Services of Water and Drainage of Monterrey’s (SADM’s) Garcia wastewater treatment plant.

In-Pipe Technology Company® Company, Inc. announced that In-Pipe’s agent in Mexico, Forcis SA de CV, has signed a contract to provide In-Pipe’s professional, green sewer collection system services throughout the Garcia NL collection system to improve the wastewater treatment plant performance, improve effluent water quality, and reduce energy and sludge processing costs at the 1.5 million gallons per day (65 liters per second) wastewater treatment plant. The objective of the project is to increase the treatment capacity of the WWTP, allowing SADM to sell an increased volume of Treated Sewage Effluent (TSE). There is a tremendous need for reclaimed water due to Garcia’s growth and currently excess wastewater flow at the Garcia WWTP is diverted to another of SADM’s wastewater treatment facilities. Garcia’s population has tripled in the last three years to more than 120,000 people. The plant receives influent wastewater with 780 mg/l of Biological Oxygen Demand and combined with the high flow rate, the load on the plant is in excess of the design parameters. This contract is a follow on project to an earlier contract awarded to Forcis and In-Pipe by SADM in Montemorelos NL.

John Williams, President & CEO of In-Pipe Technology stated, “The need for quality TSE for reuse exceeds the supply in many parts of Mexico. Our Agent is working with several of Mexico’s water authorities to expand TSE reuse by implementing In-Pipe Technology. Our all natural technology provides the WWTP the capability to process greater volumes of wastewater per day and to produce higher quality TSE for reuse, with no capital expenditure”.

In-Pipe’s patented technology includes regularly adding a high concentration formulation of facultative, naturally-occurring, non-pathogenic bacteria to strategic locations throughout the sewer system in accordance with an engineered plan. This entails zero capital cost and no additional energy requirement. Performance by In-Pipe bacteria in the collection system provides increased capacity within the plant, forestalls costly upgrades, and extends the life of the existing infrastructure.

In-Pipe Technology offers specialized technical expertise, strong customer understanding, and deep resource knowledge. Since In-Pipe uses natural, biological methods that complement the treatment plant’s own processes, In-Pipe is a sustainable solution − environmentally and economically.
