Lou Bencardino and Bencardino Excavating Expand Reach into New Jersey through Work at Institute for Advanced Study

Nov 08, 2011

Pa.-based Bencardino Excavating, owned and operated by Lou Bencardino, is set to begin working on the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, N.J. The Bucks County excavators will handle a complete site work package for the educational institution including storm, sanitary and water installation.

Massimino Building Corporation of Newtown, Pa. hired Bencardino Excavating to also handle the installation of paving and curb work throughout the project site. Bencardino Excavating has appointed long-time employee Tom Spenillo to serve as the project manager and Joe Hathaway to support the job as site foreman.

“At Bencardino Excavating, we are always on the lookout for opportunities to work in different geographic areas as well as on projects that allow us to give back to education and communities throughout the Delaware Valley,” said Lou Bencardino. “Not only does the Institute of Advanced Study serve international scholars, but it also brings its local residents a great deal of joy by opening its 500-acre grounds of forest and nature paths to the public year-round. It is our privilege to help beautify these grounds and serve the Institute’s international and local community.”

The Institute for Advanced Study is one of the world’s leading centers for theoretical research and intellectual inquiry. Founded in 1930 by philanthropists Louis Bamberger and his sister Caroline Bamberger Fuld, the Institute was established through the vision of founding Director Abraham Flexner.
